The conference highlighted cooperation, investment and the importance of the region’s transport accessibility

On 19 March 2026, Osijek Airport was part of the conference “Golden Slavonia – The Perspective and Future of Continental Tourism Development”, held at Hotel Waldinger in Osijek and organised by Glas Slavonije.
During the panel discussion and accompanying talks, several participants, including Osijek-Baranja County Prefect Nataša Tramišak, emphasized the importance of synergy between the public and private sectors as one of the key preconditions for stronger development of continental tourism. The need for further investment in infrastructure was also highlighted, including accommodation capacities and transport connectivity, with particular emphasis on the completion of the Croatian section of Corridor Vc.
In this context, the investment in the reconstruction of Osijek Airport’s passenger terminal represents a clear signal that the region is thinking long term and seeks to have infrastructure aligned with future development needs. High-quality transport infrastructure is an important factor in the region’s competitiveness and in its stronger positioning as a continental tourism destination.
Participation in this type of professional event confirms the importance of a coordinated approach to development, in which transport accessibility, tourism offer and infrastructure investment act as closely connected factors.
